FAQ
The code is public — why pay? The code shows you how it works. The license lets you deploy it commercially (the BSL requires one), and the production configuration is the part that took months of live validation to get right: the public example profile is deliberately conservative. Compare the alternative — months of an engineer’s time re-deriving the same tuning and chasing the same dead ends — and the license is the cheapest line item in your deployment. You’re buying a validated, deployable, supported system, and a builder who answers email.
What counts as “one deployed system”? One robot or workcell running ForeForce in a commercial or production setting. Your dev bench doesn’t count against it. Growing past five systems, or embedding ForeForce in something you sell? Email me — that’s the OEM conversation.
Why “introductory pricing”? Because this is the first production run, and early buyers are taking a chance on new hardware from a new company. The price will rise as the deployment record grows — but the terms you buy at are yours for that system, permanently. Early is the good end of this deal.
I bought a license — do I need another one for the board? The board includes its own license for the system it’s deployed on. A standalone license covers a system you build on your own hardware.
Is this FCC certified? Not yet. The board sells as a development kit for evaluation and development use — the same basis on which every silicon vendor’s evaluation module is sold. An FCC-certified production module is the planned next step, driven by demand from this first run.
What if Q4 slips? Then I’ll tell you, plainly, before you read it anywhere else — and your deposit is refundable in full at any point. You’re never charged the balance until hardware is actually shipping.
Can I see it working before I buy? Yes — the demo video, the lab notes, and the full source. That’s the point of building this in the open.
